Nedre Dalälven offers 200 km of exciting, varied fishing. The river is a shifting landscape of bays with innumerable islands, separated by stretches of rapids. It also has many lakes of varying sizes. The region offers richly varied fishing – 30 different species. And you’ve always got the chance to catch a really big fish. The bays and lakes are filled with pike, perch and pike-perch, while the more rapid waters offer fish like grayling and trout. Salmon and brown trout are available all the way up to the rich waters of Älvkarleby.
Mikael Engström, fishing reporter at Sweden’s largest fishing magazine, wrote in this year’s first issue:
"The stretch from Hovran at Hedemora down to the Marmafjärden bay just before Älvkarleby is one of Sweden’s most interesting areas for pike-perch, perch and pike. The area is extremely varied, alternating with wide bays, gentle currents and delta canals. Another plus is that the infrastructure for sport fishermen is extensive."
