Olof Krans Museum

Olof Krans was a pioneer artist, who portrayed life in the Swedish commune of Bishop Hill, Illinois, in the 1850s. The establishment of this colony marked the start of a huge wave of emigration from Sweden to America. Nearly 200 émigrés left Nora parish in northern Uppland to find the ‘Utopia on the Prairie’ with other followers of Erik Janson.
