The Mörksuggan is spoken of in old documents from several areas in Dalarna. It symbolises the dark and the night, and also something of the mysticism and magic that have always captivated the Dalarna imagination – a powerful contrast to all the colourful Sunday festivities.

The Mörksuggan is manufactured at Janersgården in Gisselbo

and bears the farm’s brand on its neck.
